Dr Priya Loomba
With nearly a decade of experience in General Practice and over 25 years as a doctor across New South Wales, I am deeply committed to promoting health equity and providing holistic care to all individuals. My focus on health education, preventive care, and comprehensive medical treatment has driven my passion for General Practice.
Throughout my career, I’ve gained valuable exposure to both rural and urban medicine, including tropical and developing regions. I've worked in diverse locations such as Wollongong, Bourke, Bowral, Orange, Murwillumbah, Moruya, Sydney, and Samoa. Having grown up in Wollongong and completed my post-graduate MBBS at the University of Wollongong, I have a strong connection to the area. I also spent years in Sydney, where I studied and worked in Occupational Therapy before transitioning into medicine. I now live in Southeastern Sydney with my partner, two children, and two dogs.
The loss of both my parents has deepened my passion for patient advocacy, health communication, and the importance of multidisciplinary care in managing both health and community needs.
My areas of interest include:
- Women’s and men’s health
- Preventative medicine
- Aged care
- Immigrant and Aboriginal health
- Travel medicine
- Chronic disease management
- Skin health
- Sexual health
- Children’s health
- LGBTQ+ health
- Mental health
- Family medicine
